GRACIE AND MINX

We caught up with local NYC rockers Minx and Grace recently to see what they are up to. No strangers to the NYC bar scene they have played the Bleecker steet scene to festivals and colleges across the country. Currently they are working on getting Connections the musical to Broadway, an all original rock musical written by Grace Millo with Minx as a lead in the musical, a force to be reckoned with. Both come from theatre backgrounds so it “just feels like the natural progression”.

Every reading of the show has come with avid new fans that can’t wait to see the project get to Broadway.

Investors are circling and the word is that the music for this show is awe inspiring. Grace is the proud sister of Opera diva Aprile Millo and punk rock legend Rick Wilder. Her parents were both opera singers and actors. She credits this rich musical and theatrical tapestry as her inspiration. Connections is her first musical as an author, she has two other shows to come right behind it.

After the band split, Grace self produced two CD’s of her own singer-songwriter material while Minx hit the NYC cover scene. Grace’s music has been featured in several Independent Films and TV. Their songs can also be downloaded on itunes.com. Catch them this summer at a local bar called PD O’Hurley’s on Pier 84 in Hell’s kitchen every Wednesday night.  With great music, captivating sunsets and cold drinks, they won’t disappoint. Go to their facebook page for more info: Minx & Grace.

Minx has had her own self named original band before Grace joined forces with her to pursue another passion; rock music and song writing. They formed the alternative rock band AMANDA’S WAITING. Grace wrote most of the music for their three self released CD’s and for an MCA development deal for a CD called Just Layavailable onwww.cdbaby.com/aw.
